BE THE BEST VERSION OF YOU

A little bit about me

My aim is to help my clients achieve their goals and to share my knowledge and passion.

To support my clients on their journey to achieving a better lifestyle, to feel more energized, to destress and fill them with happy endorphins and positivity. To promote exercise in a holistic way that can be enjoyable through movement.

My passion always has been in dance since I was seven years old where I started my training as a dancer in ballet, contemporary, jazz, tap and musical theatre at The Riley School of Dance. I then went to Elmhurst Ballet School where I achieved a National Diploma in dance and advanced 2 RAD ballet. I continued my training in Musical Theatre at SLP College. I then danced professionally for seven years travelling around the world mainly on cruise ships, where I became Dance Captain and Production Manager and where I met my husband Jairo.

When I moved to London, I found a new passion in the fitness industry and became a qualified personal trainer and class instructor. I have now been in the fitness industry since 2013. My expertise is Dance, Pilates, Postural Assessment, Rehabilitation, Pre and Post-natal Exercise, Older Adults, Whole-body Vibration Training, Nutrition for Weight Management, Weight Loss, Muscle Imbalance and High- intensity Interval Training.

In 2019 I decided I wanted to create my own business and here I am today teaching classes and 1-2-1 sessions online and in person. Now this is where the fun really begins.

“Gemma offers classes that are truly unique and special. She is a fantastic instructor, teacher and dancer. She choreographs all the routines herself and really encourages and motivates you. There is a great variety of music and styles of dance, so you never get bored. Whether you are a beginner or more experienced, there is something for everyone. You are completely in control of how much you exert yourself. After a class, I feel energised and uplifted, which is amazing considering I’ve just been tricked into exercising for an hour! It’s a fun class, full of lovely people. Nobody is watching you because everybody is too busy concentrating on the moves themselves! I highly recommend this class – it’s the highlight of my week!”

– Caroline

“Gemma’s classes have a unique and inclusive energy. I truly believe that she was born to teach and inspire her students. She gives fantastic encouragement and clear direction, so everyone feels welcome – whether you dance regularly or have never taken a class in your life. Her enthusiasm is contagious, and you’ll leave the class feeling challenged, invigorated, and with the biggest smile on your face.”

– Grace

“Gemma is a fantastic PT Not only is she incredibly positive and encouraging, but she creates each session to your individual needs and just challenges you enough to make a huge difference.

I get bored easily, but Gemma’s sessions are always stimulating and enjoyable and by mixing up cardio, weights, Pilates with functional training, I find the hour just flies by!”

– Debbie

“Gemma has been my PT for about 2-3 years and when lockdown loomed, I was anxious about how I would be able to work out. Gemma soon gathered in her dance and fitness community and created a great selection of both live and pre-recorded classes that we can all do from home. I particularly enjoy my personal PT session with her via Zoom and quickly found there was no let-up in the intensity of the workouts. Using mainly functional training and small but deep movements she has adapted her skills seamlessly to the virtual fitness world. I would highly recommend Gemma.”

– Rachel

“I have been a client of Gemma for 4 years. At that time I had sustained a fractured ankle and damaged tendons and was looking for a trainer who could help me to rehabilitate and become reasonably fit, I should mention I was 68 years old at the time and rehab was critical yet difficult.

Gemma as a professional was understanding and was able to devise a program that enabled me to return to a good level of fitness. Since then I have continued with Gemma on a regular basis and she has helped me through further injuries to my knee and shoulder as well as helping me to sustain a level of fitness suitable to my age,

Her sessions are well structured and varied which maintains my interest as well as fitness level. She is very well qualified and in addition she is lovely person and 100% reliable. I can not recommend her highly enough.”

– Sue

“Gemma’s Zumba classes are just wonderful, they lift the soul and don’t feel like exercise at all. She uses a variety of different dance styles and the classes just fly by, she uses lots of modern music, which is uplifting and I especially appreciate this. Although I feel like I am just having fun, my step count after a class is very high, so I know I have been moving. I recommend her classes highly; they are joyful.”

– Sally

“Gemma is an amazing Zumba teacher. Her music and choreography are very inspiring, based on her background as a professional dancer. She brings a high level of infectious energy and joy to her classes. She is also a brilliant ballet, jazz and Pilates teacher.”

– Lynda

“Gemma’s positive energy and joie de vivre are delightful and infectious, coming across in all her classes. Even though she’s an accomplished and gifted dancer, she teaches all dance and Zumba with patience, understanding and clarity so that whatever level you are, you feel comfortable and confident. She’s the ultimate professional while still managing to implement a very personal and individual approach. I can’t wait to try all her other classes as I can imagine that anything she puts her mind to will be enjoyable and successful.”
